Vassil Alexandrov is a Professor in Computational Sciences at the School of Systems Engineering and a Director of the Centre for Advanced Computing and Emerging Technologies (ACET) which aims to demonstrate and promote new ways of doing multidisciplinary research based on the approach of "scientific discovery through advanced computing". His main research interests are in the area of Computational Science, Scalable Algorithms, Collaborative and Grid Computing and Scientific Visualisation. ACET main research is in the areas of Computational Sciences, Collaborative, Cluster and Grid Computing, VR and Scientific Visualisation and using the advances in these areas for efficiently solving large scale scientific and industrial problems.
